Grand opening of the Kitchen!

We went to Idaho this weekend to see Sally and Gordon's remodeled kitchen. And it is beautiful!  I love the white and it feels so clean.  It probably wasn't good for me because now I want a new kitchen like that. Sorry Derek.

Looks like a picture from pintrest

Sally had some extra Ivy so she made us all some plants of our own.  I love the pots too!

Julie and Lane came down from Rexburg too, but I didn't get any pictures of her.  It was fun having them all get to know julie, and everyone got along great!  I love that Cole and Sarah live so close!  I am so lucky to have such great in-laws!

What's that in the carpet Derek?

So funny story.  The apartment has been really humid lately because our water heater was broken and the pipes were dripping water onto it. And there were spiders coming out. I mean big spiders.  I was cleaning the bathroom and they are hiding in my gloves in the bucket! Sick! Didn't clean the rest of the day. Sorry Derek. So i'm having these nightmares about spiders. Ridiculous.  Then they fix that problem.  A week later I am in the living room monday night and in the corner it looks like leaves.  So I say Derek weird there are leaves in the corner of the house, wait they look like potatoes.  I said, come over here look at these. And he touched them and said sick! They are mushrooms!

There were mushrooms growing INNN our carpet. You didn't think mushrooms could grow in your house, well I didn't either.  I was freaking out! mold in our house! spiders, I am out of here! We called the landlord and she said what??? mushrooms, I've NEVER heard of that.  what the heck!  Anyhow we we left and went to the movies to get out of the house.

The next day the mold guy came, acted like it was no big deal. Said there was a water leak because of the ice-maker in the fridge.  He pulled up the carpet sprayed some bleach and put the fan on that area to dry it up.  Its all fixed. But moral of the story. Be grateful you have no mushrooms growing in  your house!!

Thought that was pretty funny.

Trip to Rexburg

Julie's apartment is really cute.  I took a trip up there to help her get settled, go food shopping with her.  It was really fun to be up there.  They are lucky to have such a nice furnished apartment.

The happy couple.  We love lane! While I was up there we went on a little hike. There are some fun outdoorsy things to do up there. I'll have to go up again with Derek some time!

Love you Jul! Glad you're doing so goo!

City League Volleyball

So this is my new friend Nicole that I met on our christmas cruise.  She invited me to play on this city league volleyball team.  A fun thing to do in the winter when its so cold out. Derek played basketball and flag football and I played volleyball. I should have taken some pictures of Derek playing. Next year, if he's still allowed to play :)

So we did pretty good all season, but there is this other team that wins every year. And the Refs really wanted us to beat them. So we had to play double elimination.  We lost so then the better two teams played each other and then the good team beat them.  Now we are in the last game. So in order to win the tournament we need to beat them the fist 2 out of 3, and then another 2 out of 3.  So we beat them the first 3 games. Then the next round we win the match, they win the second.  Last 15 points left, its getting heated. ...and then we lose by 5 points! Man we played from 6 til 10 at night. Fun times! I don't get to competitive too often but this night I was mad we lost.   Thats the story with this team! Fun times in Springville!

Achievement Days!

My calling in our ward is Achievement Day leader.  I love it. I work with the 8-11 year olds and there are like 12-15. Crazy huh?  So we do activities 2 times a month. This was our first one.  We did a PJ'S night (prayer, scripture study, Journals) And we got them Journals.  We did a movie night and got pizza at the church.  It was a hit.

Then there is Awards night 2 times a year.  We did the theme once upon a time.  They got an award for all the things they accomplished this year.  Someone in our ward painted that castle. Amazing huh!

Don't you love that stage in your life.  They are little ragamuffins.  I love them so much!

I have two councilors.  Lori and Chloe.  Last saturday we went to Home Depot. I guess every 1st sat of the month they do a free activity with kids. So we all went and they got smocks and made pot holders and got a plant for their mom's for mother's day.  It was really fun.  Sorry mom, leaders didn't get to make one!

Oh gotta love this age :)  Some good pictures to remember.

Derek is in the young mens and loving it! He is the Priest Advisor but in Utah that means he's a councilor practically.  And I told them I have lots of time on my hands so I am going to Girls camp the first week of June. Pretty excited!
