A little glimpse into assemblies...

So as you all know, I go around and do assemblies on Internet Safety for kids.  So a few weeks ago I am doing one for the 3rd and 4th graders.   There were about 300 kids in the audience and I normally ask questions and call on them.  So I said, "you there in the black" calling on a boy in a black shirt.  And then this black girl starts talking.  She was wearing pink so clearly she just thought I said the black person.  I was so embarrassed but just tried to play it off and continue on.

Then yesterday I was doing an assembly for the whole middle school, about 850 kids.  So a pretty big room full of kids.  Again, I was calling on someone and I said,  "you in the blue, yeah the girl....oh I mean the boy" Talk about embarrassing.  All the kids around him were laughing, but I tried to just keep talking and act like I only said boy.  Quite ridiculous.  I will have to get my eyes checked.

Here is a little clip to show you what I show the kids

Think about the pictures that you are posting online, anyone can see them!

  1. The story about the black little girl is hilarious! I can't believe she didn't even miss a beat and started talking. And I feel bad for the girl/boy...his friends are never going to let him live that down! :)

  2. Hahaha. So classic Alli. I love you. And I want to see you present. It seems like it's a good reminder for everyone. Nice job. Except for calling that boy a girl.
